By FOX News Magazine, July 22, 2013 TheBeeroness.com After what seems like an eternity of ABV (alcohol by volume) one-upmanship, brewers are starting to offer fantastically well-crafted beers on the lower end of the alcohol scale.   Maybe for people who don’t want to have to call a cab after just one pint, maybe as a way to focus on more delicate flavors that might be overwhelmed by the alcohol, or maybe because some of us want to try several beer while avoiding becoming a cautionary tale. Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses   It is hard work carrying around anger, frustration and hatred, but worst of all it makes us vulnerable. When we are angry or frustrated everything that could offend us does, only fueling that anger. Our judgement becomes clouded and often we lash out at others who are simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. We pray (depending on which denomination you are) “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”. That is why the Lord asks us to love thy neighbor, because…

Treasures in Heaven 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%206:19%20-21&version=NIV

Do Not Worry     25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They…

As a follow up to an article I recently posted by Rabbi Brad Hirschfield entitled “Does Prayer Work?”, I was lead to share some thoughts on God’s Will and how we reconcile it with our desires. As the Rabbi rightly pointed out prayer is not catalog shopping, and the fact that you don’t get what you want doesn’t mean prayer doesn’t work. In the Bible it tells us that if two or more believers pray together their prayers will be answered, some people think that means you get what you want. It means that prayers will be answered, and sometimes the answer is no….

I mean really work? You bet it does! But saying that does not mean that prayers are the spiritual equivalent of coins which we place in a Divine vending machine and that if we put the right ones in, in the proper sequence, we will automatically be granted whatever it is we ask for, especially in tough times. That would be magic or manipulation, not prayer. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in a personal God – one who listens to my prayers, especially when those I love…

How often do you hear of an Atheist being persecuted? I have never heard of Atheists being being discriminated against or publicly mocked and humiliated. Yet why do they do they persecute those of faith? Why do they fight against Christmas? Truthfully I pity them, what gives them hope in life? People of faith have the hope of God’s love for his children and the afterlife with him. If you do not believe then what purpose does your life have? To what end do you work? What becomes of you when your life is over? A life without God is…
